The unveiling of the Disruptors series: a collaborative photography exhibition under the creative direction of George Antonopoulos with honorary chair LadyFag.

A charity project featuring 12 boundary breaking artists, to commemorate the 5th Anniversary of CAFA.

Proceeds from the sale of artwork will support The 519 in honour of Will Munro.

The inaugural photography exhibition, The Disruptors Series, will feature subject matters who are innovating culture through distinct creativity and inspiring global style. With images shot by some of Canada and the world’s most acclaimed photographers, each piece of artwork will be curated across various digital and physical platforms.

THE ART WORK

The Disruptors Series is comprised of 12 iconic pieces of work featuring distinct Canadian influencers who personify disruption and innovation in the context of fashion.

Unique to its kind, the Series will expose creative pioneers of underground culture as the genesis of global fashion influence; highlighting the role Canada plays in global creativity.

The Disruptors Series captures the artists, becoming art.

CAFA GALA

The exhibition will be formally unveiled to the public in an avant-garde setting at the Fifth Annual The Canadian Arts Fashion Awards (CAFA) Gala on April 20th, 2018 at the Fairmont Royal York.

XPOSED has produced one-of- a-kind collaborative fashion photography exhibition that captures and interprets contemporary Canadian culture that evokes a sense of disruption that dominates our era.

Honouring designers, models, image makers, stylists and influencers, CAFA has established itself as a premier event in the Canadian and global fashion industry.

CAFA was created to celebrate outstanding achievement and emerging talent in Canadian fashion industry. Mandated to grow a stronger appreciation for Canadian talent both at home and abroad, CAFA’s national platform plays an instrumental role in fostering the next generation of Canadian, international designers through an annual Awards gala and year-round economic development-based initiatives.

George’s creative vision has also graced the fashion pages of prestigious magazines suchas Elle Canada, Flare, Glow, EnRoute and the Holt Renfrew book. Various fashion lines and retailers such as Pink Tartan, Hudson’s Bay, Lord & Taylor, Holt Renfrew, Maison Simons, Arthur Mendonca and Rudsak have sought out George’s distinct creative vision for their special collaboration projects. Based on his innate sense of market trends, popular Canadian retailer Danier Leather selected George to be the creative force & vision behind the capsule collection “Object” whose success made news in all the major Canadian fashion publications and has received industry praise. George has been fortunate to work with notable industry celebrities such as Lana Del Rey, Emily Blunt, Iman, Olivia Wilde, Elisha Cuthbert, Shalom Harlow, Milla Jovovich, Jessica Stam, Kirsten Owen, Helena Christensen, Andrej Pejic, Jourdan Dunn and Yasmin Warsame. George’s accomplishments and contributions were highlighted by winning the P&G beauty awards for Fashion Editor of the year for 2012 + 2013 and currently nominated for the third time. He also won Stylist of the year for 2013 at the Canadian Arts & Fashion Council (CAFA) awards as well as The Post City “Jeanne Beker” award for Popular Personal Stylist for 2013.

Brittney Kuczynski is a capital markets professional, philanthropist and fashion industry enthusiast. After graduating from the University of Toronto in 2011, she began her career as a global investment Analyst at Summerhill Capital Management, a top-performing value-driven investment management firm, followed by 4 years in institutional equity sales and trading covering all sectors of Canadian equity markets, most recently at Paradigm Capital, a top-tier private investment bank. Currently, Brittney is Vice President at Bank of New York Mellon’s global debt capital markets group, which oversees $14 trillion in debt globally, with a focus on conventional debt, securitization and structured finance. Simultaneous to her career in capital markets, Brittney Founded the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards (CAFA) and is the brainchild of many well-known Canadian fundraising initiatives, including publishing 5 nationally distributed fashion-focused magazines, founded the Oceana Ball at age 18 which she Chaired for 5 years, and most recently founded The Grand Commission Foundation, which benefits vulnerable victims of society with a multi-year focus on anti-sex trafficking initiatives. Brittney has also played leadership roles in many of Toronto’s premier charity events in support of Herbie Fund, the Toronto Public Library Foundation and Oolagen Youth Mental Health.

Glenna brings with her an education background grounded with almost two decades of hands-on fashion retail experience, from buying to store launches, visual merchandising, and events. Glenna has extensive experience in retail, including Holt Renfrew, where she played a leadership role in management of all womenswear visual display, windows, decor, and special event coordinator; followed by buying at Winners and Joe Fresh. In 2010 she co-founded Rac Boutique; A creative forum offering cutting edge fashion and lifestyle items located in the heart of Toronto’s Yorkville neighbourhood. To compliment her retail background, Glenna also nurtured her ongoing passion for styling where she freelanced for magazines including FQ, Flare, LAB, YYZ as well as runway shows for Canadian fashion designers during Toronto Fashion Week. Glenna also played leadership roles in major Canadian milestone events, including Fashion’s Night Out (2012) which was sponsored by Vogue and the CFDA, and Co-Founded and organized multi-day shopping opportunities through “The Bazaar”, a pop-up retail outlet supporting 20+ independent retailers with attendance in excess of one thousand.
